In her almost five years in the CW space in ConocoPhillips, Celine Long has internalized and created a Center of Excellence, which she counts as her crowning achievement. After spending 15 years in HR with ConocoPhillips, Long became director for its contingent workforce program upon its establishment in 2014. She held this role for nearly four years prior to taking her current role as talent acquisition project manager.

Additionally, under her leadership, more than five team members have earned their CCWP certifications. The global program counts about 2,000 assignments annually. Moving forward, Long looks to “continue to drive business value through more efficient processes and utilizing more diverse ways of acquiring and leveraging CW talent.”

Long believes one of the biggest challenges in the CW space currently is “internal behavior change management,” moving from the way things have always been done to the way things should and are being done today. Regarding the future of CW, Long is enthusiastic. “I think contingent labor will allow people to engage, work, and contribute in a variety of different ways. This will significantly alter how leaders will be effective and engage their very diverse workforce,” she says.
