Erin Bruggeman does not things halfway. As global sourcing lead for HR services and contingent labor at Cargill, she crafted the company’s contingent workforce program after obtaining feedback — and eventually sponsorship — from diverse stakeholders around the globe. The result: The soon-to-be-implemented Cargill Contingent Workforce Program, with greater than $100 million under management, will go live in multiple countries, supporting businesses and contingent workers around the world.

“I can’t take all the credit,” she says. “I am most proud of the teamwork and collaboration across many disciplines at Cargill to get to this point.”

That’s not all. With its MSP’s assistance, the CW program will provide data insights, market expertise, risk management and financial solutions that will help Cargill deliver on its mission of nourishing the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way.

To get here, Bruggeman relied on her sourcing background and 19 years’ experience at the company, where she has built significant relationships across varied departments. This process has taken more than two years and spanned a global pandemic. Bruggeman has played a crucial role every step of the way from program visualization to building the necessary internal foundation, to selecting the MSP provider.

”We wanted to take a thorough and thoughtful approach to designing our program and strategy, the team is excited about the progress made so far, and looking forward to seeing our program come to life,” she says.

Bruggeman is big advocate of a contingent workforce. Covid has only deepened that belief. Through the program’s implementation, she is working to identify new opportunities for the program.
