Senior Procurement Manager Amar Nathwani’s tenure with Sky began on March 16, 2020 — the first day of the lockdown. Europe’s leading media and entertainment company, Sky is part of the Comcast group of companies.

Nathwani manages a total talent workforce strategy across all of Europe. Amid the pandemic, he worked with the C-Level and developed a contingent workforce approach to meet business objectives. Sky introduced a new managed service provider and vendor management system across its enterprise to drive compliance, governance, sourcing, visibility, cost savings and digitization.

“We are transforming the operating model, eliminating all redundant data entry and integration, streamlining processes and improving the efficiency of service that we provide internal and external stakeholders,” Nathwani says.

He relishes the variety of work involved in managing the program, from tracking legislation, keeping an eye on market analytics to keeping up with technology advances and improving the user experience. Through it all, he enjoys the interactions he has with stakeholders and building their trust. “At the end of the day, I want everyone to have the support they need.”

He is quick to note that it is not only his program. “It is vital to make sure you analyze a program with a 360- degree lens. You need to cast a view from all aspects including our stakeholders, the MSP and the supply base,” Nathwani says. “That’s what I always think about, how can a program be set up to add a competitive advantage to Sky.”
