In his three years as global category lead HR, Maurice Benz has been instrumental in advancing Corning Inc.’s contingent workforce in the US, Asia Pacific and Europe. He continues to add capabilities to existing programs at the innovative technology and glass company, and push expansion of its global footprint.

Benz was introduced to the staffing ecosystem a decade ago while working as a procurement professional at Vodafone, responsible for sourcing solution partners on the MSP, RPO and VMS side.

“That’s really where I started to get that passion for talent, because I really believe that people are the most valuable assets for any organization to be and to remain successful,” he says.

His goal is to provide channels to access the right talent in a more efficient way, seeking improvements to quality and identifying additional savings opportunities while mitigating any risk exposure. And his defined strategy revolves around the same objectives: increase visibility, improve quality, drive efficiencies, and control costs while mitigating any risk to drive compliance.

The industry is already evolving to a more holistic approach to talent, and is embracing new ways to acquire that talent, he notes. Whether labelled full-time employees, statement-of-work workers, contingent workers, interns or robots, he sees an increasingly blended look for talent to do work.

“I’m looking forward to continue my passion for talent in an ever-evolving industry,” he says.
