As global head of on-demand workers at UBS Group AG, Mandy Stopps was eager to turn the investment bank’s legacy program into a more interconnected global program. Since taking on the role in 2017, she has been using her 18-plus years of experience in MSP and RPO and pulling out all the stops.

Working together, Stopps and her team discovered innovative ways to streamline the hiring process, reducing average time-to-hire to 13 days from 28 and achieving an 87% satisfaction rate among hiring managers and 97% from suppliers.

And she continues to break down silos while pursing strategies that increase speed, lower costs and mitigate risk. For example, Stopps has empowered program managers to take quick action by eliminating the regional management layer. She also introduced users to the concept of total talent management by engaging a full range of talent sources. In addition to pioneering a direct sourcing model, introducing a contingent value proposition, she has expanded the talent pipeline by fostering the development of meaningful partnerships between in-house recruiters and MSPs.

Recently, she has created an advisory team to help hiring managers put better-formed talent requisitions out to market. She believes that combining data and human touch has been instrumental in encouraging new ways of thinking and that proactively promoting holistic talent sourcing across all labor categories will take the already successful contingent labor program to the next level.
