Liz Mitchener is responsible for the global structure and operations of GSK’s external workforce. This includes contingent workers, services contracts, offshore services and more at the science-led healthcare company, whose three branches of businesses include pharmaceutical products, consumer products and vaccines.

Mitchener worked across a vast range of different technologies and processes to put together a service that looks after all types of workers at GSK.

“It was a very mammoth task in GSK, first of all, to be able to tell you how many we have and how much it costs us,” she explains. “Those are key things.”

To get there, she was heavily involved with the deployment of HR software Workday and moving vendor management system Fieldglass into more countries. Her team will be deploying procurement software Ariba in 2020, linking up Fieldglass and Ariba together during the process.
