Lisa Egan joined Pearson from GlaxoSmithKline in January 2017 to support the HR function at a time of considerable change for enabling functions within Pearson. Over the last 2.5 years, Egan has supported her colleagues to introduce shared services, deploy core platforms and transform the company’s approach to contingent workforce.

Egan quickly established herself as a trusted advisor to HR, partnering closely with the SVP talent and senior talent acquisition teams to build the case for change. The result saw Pearson move from a fragmented, regional approach to contingent workforce management to the introduction of an MSP and associated program. The program is now responsible for approximately 900 contingent workers and resulted in savings in excess of 10%. The program consistently receives positive feedback from hiring managers who are now able to source the right people at the right price at the right time.

But Egan is not sitting on her laurels. She is working even more closely with HR on global expansion of the program and focusing on understanding the new ways of working that will support the rise of total talent.
