Christopher J. Buttacavoli is global head of contractor management at FIS, a Fortune 300 company that provides a wide array of technology products and services to banks, merchants, and e-commerce businesses. He oversees global background checks and compliance for employees and contractors and is responsible for global contractor management.

When he joined the company in 2007 to create the CW program, FIS had 7,000 employees, including contractors, mostly in the United States. Today, thanks to a series of strategic acquisitions, the workforce has more than 55,000 employees/contractors — supporting financial institutions in 100 countries.

The company’s rapid expansion into markets around the world required integrating different cultures, processes, and technologies, and today FIS has more workers outside the United States than inside.

Buttacavoli has implemented numerous cost saving, process efficiency, rationalization, and compliance enhancements that have dramatically improved FIS’s ability to leverage its CW strategy and associated initiatives. “I am extremely proud of the progress we have made in implementing a global CW program,” he says.
