As Boeing’s global contract labor solutions leader, Brett Gerber oversees both international and domestic contract labor in more than 35 countries. “It’s a big part of our business,” he says. “Flexible workforce has and always will be a valuable part of Boeing. … Our CW strategy is aligned with our business strategy to be global industrial champions.”

With such a large global footprint, Boeing faces a unique set of challenges in handling compliance across countries’ varied labor laws. To facilitate consistency across the board, Gerber plans to move to one MSP for the entire globe, beginning with the successful management of a pathfinder project in which a vendor-funded service program was executed across seven countries, demonstrating its value to stakeholders. Another goal is to introduce operational direct sourcing models in several countries, including talent pooling, in order to reduce reliance on suppliers.

“At Boeing, we consider our CW program and its management part of our overall talent acquisition strategy and essential to hiring the very best, diverse talent,” Gerber says.
