Aurelien Givert, senior director of global procurement in corporate services, oversees HR and staffing services spend, which includes contingents, for GSK worldwide. Over the past few years, he has developed a mature, dedicated global managed program — technology enabled with a vendor management system for the complementary workforce that is now in place across 13 strategic countries and a key enabler for GSK integrated workforce solutions.

Within three years, the global biopharma company’s managed program has increased its geographic reach by a third and has developed a flexible talent pool while continuing to promote GSK as an employer of choice for contingents.

In addition, GSK in July demerged its consumer healthcare business into a new company, Haleon. To accommodate the transition, Givert and his team established a new, independent program for that entity that leverages GSK’s existing program maturity and supply chain optimization, setting Haleon up for the best possible success.

“I think it’s very rare that, in such a mature company, we got the opportunity to create a new program — this was an exciting transformative experience,” Givert says.

Givert also fosters diversity, equity and inclusion growth with the organization’s third-party staffing suppliers. In addition to supporting their involvement with GSK, he is sharing best practices to help them along in their own DE&I journeys.

“It’s great for us to be able to support them, and hopefully in turn, they will get additional business outside of GSK, which is really where we want to see them: in the communities,” he says.
